I am working in Dubrovnik this week and was invited by Croatian national, Mr Sandro Baricevic to visit the Restaurant Konavorski Dvori.

This restauarant is set in the valley of Konavle and on the banks of the Ljuta stream. It is positioned in an ancient mill and is a totally unique location.

The staff were charming and extremely attentive and we were made to feel very welcome.

The specialities of the restaurant are freshly baked breads, organic smoked ham, feta cheese kept in oil and young lamb baked under an iron bell.

If I’m honest, the smoked ham and cheese was so salty, it made my moth tingle!  The lamb was tender and served with the most delicious marinated vegetables that I have probably ever tasted.

We rounded off the meal with a lovely creme caramel and although I was full, I was glad of something sweet tasting to cut through all the salt!

I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again
