My friends always complain that they can’t chop an onion without crying. I always give them this top tip.
Cut the onion in half through the root end and peel, leaving the root end on. Then chop and keep the root attached to the end. You really won’t cry!
I have pictured a red onion as that is what I happened to be chopping. Brown onions are the strongest but this tip works on them all- believe me!
