Win a copy of the Belfast on a Plate cookbook

Thursday, September 8, 2016

I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of this wonderful Cookbook at Belfast City Hall. One lucky reader can win a copy (value £25.00).  To enter all you have to do is comment on this post saying why you would like to win.  The winner will be selected on Thursday 15th September.  Good luck everyone!

This beautiful cookbook gives a flavour of Belfast through recipes and stories.  Written by Joanna Braniff with photography by David Pauley, it features recipes and stories from some of Belfast’s finest restaurants, namely, Coppi, Deanes at Queens, Deanes Epic, General Merchants, Graze, Hadskis, Home, Howard Street, James St. South, Mourne Seafood bar, Neills Hill, Ox, Sapphire, Shu, Tedfords Kitchen, The barking Dog, The Ginger Bistro, The Merchant Hotel, The Muddlers Club and Zen.

The recipes sound amazing and the pictures look good enough to eat.  Best of all are the stories about the chefs, their backgrounds and passion for food!

  1. Id love the book so I can temp my friends and relatives from near and far (abroad) and really blow our trumpet!!!

  2. I’d love to win so I could create some restaurant style dishes at home as being parents of two young children we now get out about twice a year for dinner (as opposed to once a week “BC” – before children!).

  3. Another milestone in Belfast’s booming foodie eateries.

Would love to win this book and read stories about Belfast’s best restaurants and also pick up a few ideas to try out in the kitchen.

  4. The book is a brilliant idea showcasing how great the food scene is on Belfast. Something that can be overlooked until you visit other cities and realise how good we are.

  5. I would love to win this cookbook to inspire my fussy-eating other half to broaden his food horizons and to try different meals when we go out. If I can make them at home, he might be inspired to try new things in restaurants. Plus, I just love cooking and I am running out of things to try from the cookbooks I already own.

  6. Ohh i would absolutely love to win this fantastic cookbook, I love to cook and love trying new recipes, this would be great, recipes from my fav restaurants too . Thanks Lynne for giving us the chance to win this tasty cookbook.

  7. O! How shall I give them a treat?
Something scrummy and delicious to eat
To prove that Belfast food’s not crap
Not just bacon sruffed in a Belfast bap
Or the obligatory brunch of an Ulster Fry
Though some are good enough to make you cry
The answer is here -it’s fate!
Its the amazing Belfast On a Plate!!!
(And that is why I’d like to win it please)

  8. I would love to win as I collect a variety of cookbooks and do not have any with Irish recipes in them, sounds like an interesting book.

  9. I would love to win because I love going out to restaurants and the Belfast foodie scene is thriving. This book would be great as I can keep a recipe book of some the restaurants I frequent so I can try and make the dishes when I eventually move abroad.

  10. This book sounds great and I love the picture with the chicken! I moved away from Belfast three months ago but I’d love to win this book and have a friend bring it over. I love the variety of great food Belfast has and I’d love to learn some of the tricks the chefs use. I love trying new recipes and am determined to become a better cook! Now that I’m in Mexico it would be fantastic to be able to cook some delicious dishes that remind me of home.
