Video guide to making home made dukan chilli con carne

Feb 08, 2012 3 Comments by
I really took a notion for chilli con carne tonight so made a dukan friendly one.  I usually make a fine chilli but this one posed a real problem- how to make it taste good without tomatoes or beans.  I reckoned that the key was to making it reall y spicy and cooking it for as long as possible so that the meat really broke down.  It was delicious and a spoonful of fat free yoghurt on the side was just as good as soured cream Heres my recipe 1 onion 500g minced steak beef stock 1 tsp chilli flakes 1 tsp cumin powder 2 tsps oregano 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper 1/2 tsp lazy garlic Fry the mince until brown and drain the excess fat, stir in a finely chopped onion and stir until soft make 1/2 pint of beef stock ( a stock cube is fine) add the spices and pour over the mince mixture, add enough water to cover the mix and simmer until nearly all absorbed serve with a spoonful of fat free yoghurt

At my lunch and learn session today with Richard Reed, co-founder of Innocent drinks, there was a complimentary lunch provided. I chose a delicious range of salad including chicken, salmon, tomatoes, green beans and broccoli. Totally yummy!

I was lucky enough to be invited to a lunch and learn session with Richard Reed, one of the co-founders of Innocent drinks.  I was delighted to attend as this is a brand that I really admire!  Richard spoke about how they had set up the company and the lessons they had learned along the way.  I found hin to be very inspirational but down to earth.  I admire the ethical way this company does business without losing any of the passion.  Their drinks taste pretty good too

Sweet Chilli cottage cheese and oatbran galettes

Feb 08, 2012 No Comments
Another freezing day and I was absolutely famished this morning. I have a really busy day so want to adequately fuel myself. I had made some oatbran galettes and topped them with a new discovery- sweet chilli cottage cheese from M+S. I know that this is breaking the dukan rules a bit but it was absolutely delicious and really very tangy. I will definitely have this again as plain cottage cheese can be very dull. I also had a bit of smoked salmon on the side. This was a most satisfying breakfast and I now feel fully set up for the day
