So here it is, my tomato, bacon and bean soup!
Some time ago, I entered my soup recipe into a competition organised by New Covent garden soup to become their soup of the month. I submitted a recipe that I had originally made as a pasta sauce but quickly changed when I realised that I had no pasta in the cupboard!
Having encouraged my friends and family to vote, I was over the moon to hear that I had won and that the soup would be produced and sold around the UK. Obviously, the boffins in the New Covent Garden kitchens would have to make some amendments to the recipe to make it commercially viable so I was excited to see and taste the end product.
I was just a bit over excited to see this carton on the shelf in my local supermarket and I snapped it up to sample for lunch. I have to say, I was delighted with the outcome. It was tasty, filling and really tasted home made. Well done and a huge thank you to New Covent Garden Soup.
You can read more about it here on the NCG site
Now what to make for my next soup???
