How to make a chocolate serving bowl
Friday, July 7, 2017
Here's a video guide on how to make a serving bowl from melted chocolate. Looks good, tastes good and best of all, you can eat it too! As an extra bonus- no washing up!

I have always fancied having a go at making a bowl out of chocolate. I have seen ones made by dipping a balloon in chocolate but I really didn’t like the thought of the chemicals from the balloons being in contact with the chocolate.
I decided instead to use ice to make a mould. This would help the chocolate to set and once it melted a little would make it easy to lift the chocolate off without breaking it.
As I was having friends round for dinner, I decided to give it a go and if it worked, use it to serve strawberries in. I wasn’t convinced that it would be a success but nothing ventured, nothing gained.
In the end, I was really pleased with how it turned out. I have made this many times now but next time will make a few and use them to serve the desserts in for each person.
I made a video the first time I made it to give you a better idea of how to do it. You can see it below!
To make it- all you need is chocolate, a bowl and a freezer. I use a piping bag to drizzle the chocolate but you could use a spoon if you don’t have one!

I love any new ways to consume chocolate – so might bite the bullet and try this! Thanks.
Thanks for the comment Rachel- let me know how you get on
I am guessing that this should not be used for soup. I think I might try it anyway….
lol Lindsey! Maybe not soup but good for puddings!
