Some health benefits of Honey

As the first ever Hillsborough honey fair is taking place, I thought I would share my top health benefits of this superfood:

  • It’s good for the heart! as It’s packed full of antioxidants.
  • Its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties can soothe irritated skin, as it’s loaded with nutrients that nourish and cleanse the surface
  • It gives you energy as it’s made up of fructose and glucose and is a powerful, natural energy snack
  • It can treat burns and wounds
  • It can suppress a cough as it reduces the irritation
  • A spoonful in the morning helps to wake you and a spoonful at night helps you sleep
