How to make an ice wine cooler

I love making these ice wine coolers.  They look great and certainly are very effective at chilling wine.  They are really easy to make so if you are feeling just a little bit creative, why not give one a go.

To make one, all you have to do is choose two containers, one smaller than the other.  It is important at this stage to check that the smaller jug is big enough to hold a bottle of wine and that the 2 jugs or containers are small enough to fit in your freezer.

Put some water in the bigger jug and placed the second jug inside it.  It tends to float so use something to weigh it down (I usually use an orange or apple or anything that comes to hand).

Then insert a selection of flowers ( I use some from the garden) by poking them between the 2 containers.

Place the 2 jugs in the freezer and top up the water levels as high as you can and leave to freeze.

Removing the 2 containers can be a little tricky and you may need some hot water over the surfaces to release them.  Once they are released, put the cooler back in the freezer until you need it.

I have to say, the cooler looks really stunning and never fails to impress.  Better than that, it chills the wine more effectively than any cooler I have used before.  Best of all, it is totally free!
