Bubbles and a view at the Ivory’s new champagne bar

Sunday, November 13, 2016

The Ivory Champagne Bar is located on the ladieswear floor of House of Fraser in Belfast and enjoys panoramic views under the Victoria Square dome. Eating Ideas was lucky enough to be invited along to a special preview evening to try it out and I didn’t hesitate in saying yes! I am a big fan of a glass of something bubbly before, after or even during shopping so this is my kind of place!

At the launch event

On arrival, we were greeted by a table loaded with chilled champagne. Rarely have I seen a more beautiful sight! Local artisan gin company, Jawbox, had also set up a stand to allow us to sample their signature serve of Jawbox with ginger ale- this is a delicious and refreshing combination by the way.

The curved champagne bar has French luxe inspired feel and really is quite stunning with extensive marbled and mirrored features throughout.

As we mingled, we were to a range of delicious canapés which included smoked duck and apricot puree on toast; chicken, rocket and mayo wrapped in parma ham; pork belly, black pudding and apple crisp; wild mushroom bruschetta with rocket and parmesan and goats cheese tart with walnut and balsamic. All this while being serenaded by local crooner, Jason Maguire who sang familiar swing tunes and set the mood of the occasion.

I took the opportunity to have a quick peruse of the menu while I was there, just to check it out for future visits. I was delighted to see the offer of platters, salads, Panini’s, savouries and sweets. Breakfast is also served until noon.

If, like me, you like a taste of the finer things in life, make sure to pay a visit to the Ivory Champagne Bar. It’s a delightful place with great staff serving top-notch food and quality bubbly! All with fabulous views of the shopping centre- What’s not to like about that?

Eating Ideas will soon be running a competition in Partnership with LoveBelfast.co.uk to win a bottle of Duval Leroy Champagne and a sharing platter of cured meats, local cheeses, chutneys, olives, breads crackers and tapenade for four people.
