I got off lightly as I only had to bring a starter and the Christmas crackers.  We decided that  a light starter was in order so that we would not fill up before the main course.  We enjoyed a serving of honeydew melon which was perfectly ripe and garnished with blackberries and cherries

Probably not the best idea to have chicken the night before the ultimate turkey dinner tomorrow. All the same it needed to be used up and does go very well with baked potato, coleslaw and salad!  

This one was purely for quality control. I called to visit my Mum and she was busy making these for a Christmas party. I just had to try one to make sure they were up to standard. Happily I can report that it was top notch!  

Decided to take a well earned break from wrapping presents for a cup of tea and a home made white chocolate and cranberry cookie. It was pretty yummy. Christmas is a time for over indulgence after all!  

A light lunch of a cup of M-S leek and potato soup served with rice cakes topped with cottage cheese, spring onions and Jester tomatoes. A really tasty combination. Am now ready for some gift wrapping!  

Just a tasty snack with a few drinks in Bob Stewarts bar. Chips with pepper sauce shared between a few friends! Pretty good!  

A tasty pre night out snack of cheese and crackers. Red Leicester, philadephia and jacobs cream crackers- lovely

Fridge stocked with nice Christmas goodies. Opted to try the chicken liver pate on toast. I even cut the toast into fingers in an attempt at presentation!!  

3rd flight in 24 hours so am feeling shattered and completely fed up of airline catering offerings (most of which I have not bothered with as they are so uninspiring). On a flight from Nairobi. Tired after a hectic week in Africa. Opted for the noodles on BA. Actually better than expected! I turned down starter dessert, cheese and extras and just enjoyed the noodles!  

All checked out and ready to go home. Bags are with security and car to airport is booked. All that remains is to have one final lunch in the sunshine by the pool- total bliss!! Last day in Rwanda so started my day with a healthy combination of fruit and oat bread. The pineapple, melon and orange was fresh and really juicy! Heading off now to meet some local communities today before flying to Nairobi.
