Thinking of a gift for your loved one this Valentine’s day? Heres how you can make some yummy truffles in different varieties!
I may not be the most romantic person in the world but sometimes a little effort is required. Having said that, I love chocolate so these were as much a gift to me as to the other half!
They are really easy to make and you can adapt the flavours by adding different ingredients.
To make the basic truffle recipe you will need:
- 300g good quality chocolate (at least 70% cocoa solids)
- 50g butter
- 1 carton of double cream
Instructions:
- Melt the chocolate and butter
- Whip the cream
- Stir the cream into the mix
- Add your chosen flavours
- roll into balls
- chill
I made 3 different varieties by splitting the mixture into 3. I kept one lot plain, rolled into balls coated in cocoa powder
The 2nd lot, I added dessicated coconut to the mix and coated the balls with it
The 3rd mix, I added orange juice and zest and covered in melted white chocolate. (I had to chill this mix for a while as the juice made it quite runny)
The plain truffle:
The coconut truffle
The orange truffle and my favourite!!!
try them and impress the loved one in your life!
