So it’s that time of year again when we all focus on getting healthy, eating better and upping the exercise. Every year, I embark on a spectacular detox in January and then enjoy 11 months of retoxing! This year is no different and I am trying out new food combinations as a result.
As I had a couple of over ripe bananas left over ( I hate over ripe bananas!) I decided to try some sugar free banana oat cookies. I did add a bit of honey for sweetness but that’s definitely an improvement on refined sugar. I have to say, I was pleased with the results. They are never going to replace a slice of cake but if you are being good and craving something sweet, they hit the spot!
If you want to give them a go- here is what you will need:
Ingredients for sugar-free banana oat cookies
- 2 overripe bananas
- 1 apple (peeled, cored and grated)
- 15og porridge oats
- 1 & 1/2 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
Instructions:
- Pre heat the oven to 175
- Mix all the ingredients together
- Place balls of the mixture on baking trays
- Bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes or until golden
- Serve and enjoy
