It has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and a wide range of tempting fayre on the menu. To be honest, I was spoilt for choice! After much consideration, I chose the Homemade Buccleuch Estate Matured Steak Beef Burger, which came served with Gherkins, Beef Tomato, Tomato Relish, Onion Marmalade, Aioli, French Fries & Mixed Salad (£10) It all came served on a wooden board and looked huge. I decided to forgo the bread roll to save space for all the more interesting elements and made a valient, but unsuccessful effort to finish it. The bits I left were happily gobbled up by my friend’s dog, Hector. He seemed to like it too!
As the bar is dog friendly, there were plenty of other pooches around but thankfully they were all on their best behaviour.
I will definitely be revisiting the Village Inn!
