Fun at the Sunflower Festival at Tubby’s Farm

The annual Sunflowerfest  is a nature loving music and lifestyle festival which takes place at Tubby’s Farm in Hillsborough, Co Down. It is billed as a friendly, all inclusive broad minded weekend festival of music and arts featuring a wide range of music, fun for the family, interactive art and complementary therapy sessions.

Myself and Mr.Eating Ideas were invited along to experience the event and we jumped at the chance. When we arrived, we were stuck at how well organised the event was. Plenty of staff were on hand to direct us, organise parking, and give directions. I was slightly jealous of the people camping as it looked like lots of fun – maybe next year!

I couldn’t persuade Mr Eating Ideas to get his face glitter painted but I did manage to talk him into stopping by the dedicated Heverlee tent for a quick drink to get us into the festival vibe.  We then spent a considerable amount of time exploring the venue and checking out the many food options to choose from.

As well as musical acts and food & drink galore, the sparawling festival site featured hidden areas of art installations, spoken word and comedy performances as well as a bliss area focussing on a complete mind-body experience.  Quite an unusual experience!

This was the 8^th year of the festival with over 100 performances. Hopefully it will be back for a 9^th in 2018. Keep an eye out for details and make sure to buy your tickets early. The information can be found here.
