The new tearooms are now open at Glenarm Castle and I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch and for a sneak peek of the annual tulip festival.
Up until now, I had only seen the castle on the big screen. It was a film location for “A Christmas Star” and I was an extra in it. I didn’t get to film in Glenarm so I was keen to see more. What a treat it was. On arrival, we were greeted by Lady Dunluce and Estate Manager, Adrian Morrow and served a very welcome glass of Prosecco. After a chance to admire the interior of the castle, Adrian showed us around the beautiful gardens with the stunning tulips in full bloom.
The new tearooms are situated in the former Mushroom House at the Estate, overlooking the kitchen garden, and are open daily to visitors. On our visit we were treated to some of the street food that would typically be served at castle events. We were given a selection of mini burgers, chips, brisket pittas, arancini and smoked salmon bites. These were made from locally sourced ingredients and were delicious.
If you get a chance, you really should pay a visit to the tearooms. You can find out more here
