A little portion of fruit sald from M+S at my desk. A mixture of melon, grapes, strawberries apple and orange. All helps towards my 5 a day and gave me a nice sugar boost  

A light lunch of Kallos rice cakes with the remains of the sainsburys red pepper houmus and tomatoes. I love this combination of tastes and textures!  

This morning saw the last of the fresh pineapple for breakfast. I have to say it is night and day better than the packs of cut fresh pineapple that you can buy in stores. It is so much fresher and I ended up with pineapple juice all over me. Lovely!! Must buy more  

I made this cottage pie with sweet potato instead of ordinary for a healthier twist. Recipe to follow soon  

This is one of the nicest soups I have ever made. Accompanied it it a rice cake topped with houmus. Will upload the recipe soon  

Some lovely fresh pineapple for breakfast!  

A portabello mushroom stuffed with a tomato, bacon, mushroom, onion and red pepper sauce and topped with grated cheese.  Baked in the oven and served with salad and dressing.  Pretty tasty even if I say so myself!!!

So its back to work and New Years resolutions are all in place. In attempt to reach my 5 a day target, I started the day with a few slices of fresh pineapple. Pineapple is loaded with vitamins and minerals and apparently helps to build bones and connective tissues.  Thats good enough for me!  

After quite a lazy last day of holidays at home, I just wanted something light for supper. I opted for a soup from the Covent Garden range that I haven’t tried before- lentil and smoked bacon. Last day off work so am using up the leftover uneaten party food before the healthy eating begins in earnest. I heated up some onion bhajees and chicken tikka samosas from Sainsburys and then tried to make it look a bit healthy with some salad  

I am not normally a fan of beef but was drawn to this on the menu because of the dauphinoise potatoes which are a particular favourite of mine.  The steak was delicious, served with a roquefort glaze and really tender!  I thoroughly enjoyed it

Out for lunch with a group of friends for our annual New Year’s day lunch in the Haven Arms, Ealing.  I really look forward to this event and we always have a good laugh together.  For a starter, I chose the smoked salmon with lemon and brown bread  

A quick toast to 2012!

A nice healthy start to 2012 with porridgen honey and blueberries. Am off out later to meet a load of friends for New Years day lunch so it will be all downhill from here!
