Amazing Chocolate Pavlova

This has to be the ultimate dessert. It just doesn't get any better than this! A pavlova itself is nice enough but with a chocolate meringue, chocolate cream, flake and maltesers, it’s a total chocolate extravaganza!


I grew up eating this dessert as it was my mum’s favourite pudding to make.  All these years later, it’s still a firm favourite for all the family.  I like to serve it with fresh fruit on the side as a minor nod to a balanced diet.

As puddings go, it’s pretty indulgent so save it for special occasions.  It really is delicious.  Very naughty but really nice!

 

 

  • 3 egg whites
  • 175g sugar 
  • 2 tsps of sieved cocoa
  • 1 tsp of vinegar
  • 1 tsp cornflour 
  • carton of whipping cream
  • 3-4 Tbsps Drinking chocolate
  • 1 chocolate flake
  • 1 bag of maltesers
  • Preheat the oven to 150C
  • Whisk the egg whites
  • Whisk in the sugar with cocoa a spoonful at a time
  • add the vinegar to the cornflour and mix in
  • Make circle of meringue on a lined baking tray
  • Cook at 150 for I hour
  • allow to cool and turn out onto a plate
  • top with the cream flavoured with drinking chocolate
  • sprinkle over the crumbled flake and decorate with maltesers
  • Serve with fresh fruit 
  • Eat and unbutton jeans to accomodate!
