Home made potato crisps

Delicious home made potato crisps. So easy and they taste great too! Easy to rustle up a batch and flavour them however you like!

I have a real savoury tooth and love salty snacks.  As I am unable to go to the shops as often as normal, I quite often find myself without the things I am craving.

No crisps? No problem! I just make my own.  The beauty of these crisps is that you be as creative as you like with the flavours.  I used Broighter Gold Chilli oil & salt  in one batch and Olive oil, smoked paprika, cumin and salt in the other- delicious!

Also, they are baked in the oven so are a healthier option than the real thing.  I love them straight from the oven- a real treat!

  • Potatoes
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Spices
  • Thinly slice the potatoes with a mandolin if you have one or with a sharp knife
  • Soak the potato slices in water to remove some of the starch
  • Divide the potatoes into plastic bags (I actually used compostable food waste bags)
  • Add a little oil, salt and spices.
  • Shake well and manipulate with your hands to ensure the slices are all covered
  • Lay the slices flat on baking trays lined with greaseproof paper
  • sprinkle over some more seasoning if required
  • Bake in the oven until golden and crispy
  • Best served straight from the oven and eaten straight away
