Spicy Broccoli Rice

An easy recipe for delicious spicy broccoli rice. Very healthy but packed full of taste and textures. This recipe is a must try!


I love broccoli rice. It’s so healthy and with the right additions, is super tasty too. I have tried it plain and it’s fine but after many experiments, this combo is my favourite!

In addition to tasting good, did you know that broccoli is exceptionally good for you and is widely considered to be a superfood?

⭐️ It’s packed full of vitamins and minerals
⭐️ It’s low in calories with zero fat
⭐️ t’s high in fibre
⭐️ It’s loaded with antioxidants, which help with all sorts of conditions
⭐️ It’s a natural detox

It’s really easy to make. All you need to make it is detailed below.

  • 1 tbsp oil (you can add a little more if you need it)
  • 1 medium head of broccoli
  • 2 banana shallots (finely sliced)
  • 2 cm piece of fresh ginger (peeled & finely chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (peeled & finely chopped)
  • ½ red chilli-finely chopped (Optional)
  • 2 tbsps dark soy sauce
  • 50g edamame beans ( I keep a bag of frozen beans in the freezer)
  • 2 sliced spring onions (plus extra to garnish)
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • ½ tsp toasted sesame seeds (to garnish
  • Blitz the broccoli in a food processor
  • Heat the oil and fry the shallots, garlic, ginger & chilli
  • Add the broccoli, soy sauce, edamame beans & spring onions and cook through
  • Stir through the lime juice, just before serving
  • Garnish with chilli slices, sliced spring onions and the toasted sesame seeds
