A recipe for Beef Keema Curry

Wednesday, July 22, 2020

An easy recipe for a delicious Beef Keema curry. Mildly spicy with loads of flavour and added peas. Lots of fresh coriander brings it to life!

I love curries, all sorts of curries and this one is tasty but super easy to make.  Perfect served with rice!  This recipe changes a little every time I make it but it always tastes good.

Usually, it is made with frozen peas, but I had loads of freshly picked peas so used those and they worked perfectly!

  • 1 red onion (finely sliced)
  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 clove garlic (grated)
  • 1 inch piece of ginger (peeled & grated)
  • 2 tbsps curry powder
  • 2 tsps garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 400g tin chopped tomatoes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 150g peas
  • 20g fresh coriander (chopped)
  • Water
  • Fry the onion in a little oil until soft
  • add all the spices and cook through
  • Add the mince and brown
  • Add the tomatoes and about 50mls water (you may need more later)
  • Bring to a simmer and add the peas
  • Stir through half the chopped coriander
  • serve with rice and garnish with coriander
